Career diplomat with multi-faceted work experience in a wide range of bilateral and multilateral areas. Passionate about global issues and multilateralism, having worked on international security and disarmament, as well as on development cooperation issues, at the United Nations in New York and Vienna. Joined the Portuguese diplomatic service in 1994 and served abroad at the Portuguese Embassies in Tokyo, Vienna and Berlin. In Portugal, her assignments included the positions of foreign policy advisor to the current President of the Portuguese Republic and director for International Economic Organizations at the Portuguese Foreign Ministry.Holds a university degree in International Relations from the Institute for Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon, and the Abitur diploma from the German School of Lisbon.Fluent in Portuguese, German, English and French.Currently Ambassador of Portugal to the Republic of Cyprus and non-resident Ambassador-designate to Lebanon.
