As part of the 18 months International Management Traineeship I worked with the Strategic Sourcing team at Delhaize America during half a year. This department is responsible for the sourcing for private labeled products for both Hannaford and Food Lion. Because of the merger with Ahold, also sourcing for the brands Giant and Stop & Stop (both Ahold USA brands) became part of their business. During these great 6 months I have had the opportunity to learn much about sourcing and get to know other cultures from a business as well as a personal perspective.

During this project, together with a team of 3 people, we had to come up with a strategy and plan for the development of a shipping service devision and a control tower for the end-to-end supply chain visibility. During this project, we went on a business trip to the headquarters of Steinhoff International Sourcing and Logistics in Shenzhen, China.
