Hello, I'm Garrett, and I lead a dedicated team specializing in Cybersecurity, primarily serving the Financial Services industry.My passion for technology started early –I often tell people that I began my IT journey in the 5th grade. Over time, I developed a deep curiosity about how things connect and achieve their intended outcomes, which led me to a career in IT.In 2010, I founded VanderNet, initially offering assistance to anyone who needed it. By 2012, I identified a gap in the local IT market, prompting us to reposition the company to cater specifically to businesses.Recognizing that local internet service providers were falling short in delivering the service and uptime they should, in 2013, I founded VanderLink, a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP). Our unique approach involved competing directly against larger carriers like the local telephone and cable companies. We even constructed our own micro data centers equipped with dual power, dual cooling, dual data routes, and more.In 2020, the COVID pandemic brought about a seismic shift in the workforce. As more people worked from home, they no longer benefited from the traditional security measures of corporate offices. This shift revealed a new market gap – security became a major concern. Our journey from an MSP (Managed Service Provider) to an MSSP (Managed Security Service Provider) began.This transition was no small feat, requiring over a year of research, education, and careful planning. In 2021, we commenced the transition with a commitment to excel. We adopted a bold mission: "Eradicate Cyber Risk." We carefully examined our existing customer portfolio, engaging in candid conversations about their risks. This process revealed significant gaps in their networks and their handling of personally identifiable information. We shone a light on these issues and guided them in making informed decisions.Today, VanderNet is a trusted name in Cybersecurity, specializing in businesses that require compliance. We align with the NIST security framework and take a customer-centric approach to secure their people, data, and infrastructure.Our commitment is to "Rethinking Secured."
