I found a strong interest in psychology around my Junior year in high school. At the time, I knew I wanted to have a career in psychology, but I wasn't quite sure where my focus would be, or even what kind of degree I wanted. By the time I was in my second semester of Sophomore year at Indiana University, I found that I really want to be a mental health counselor or a clinical psychologist with a focus on schizophrenia and other variants of psychoses. I particularly want to work with a population that would normally not be able to afford mental healthcare. I not only want to evaluate and diagnose, I want to help the patients get the most out of life after medical treatment from a psychiatrist.
