Reviewed government programs to advise the Children’s Advocate (Officer of the Legislative Assembly) on recommendations to improve quality, safety, and promote accountability within and between government agencies. These reviews laid a critical foundation for government to respond with improvements to legislation, policy, practice, and education. Submissions were provided to the United Nations Secretary-General's Report on Violence against Children to contribute to changes at an international level.Examples of work resulting in significant systemic changes include:- The review of foster home overcrowding in the Saskatoon Service Center. This report received provincial and national attention and acted as a catalyst for systemic changes to the provincial child welfare system and commencement of a Provincial Child Welfare Review. See report entitled, A Breach of Trust, An Investigation into Foster Home Overcrowding in the Saskatoon Service Center- The review of government services provided to Baby Andy. This was recognized by First Nations and the Provincial Child Welfare Review as exceptional work as reported in the Baby Andy Report.
