Strong healthcare services professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science and an Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician. The past 18 years of my life was spent pursuing a career in emergency medicine, first as a medic in the National Guard, and once getting out, working private contracting EMS and for various ambulance companies. After a car wreck affected my ability to walk, I have tried to find my new niche. I switched to 911 dispatching, but after becoming a widow, I could no longer handle the duties. I tried switching to special education, but after being physically assaulted by several students with no consequences to them, I decided to go back to the medical field. I am now working in the lab at the local hospital, putting to use the skills I learned from getting my associate’s degree back in 2012.
