The PISA 2022 reported that 40% of 15-year-old Malaysians did not meet the international standards in reading, mathematics and sciences while also experiencing one of the biggest decline in PISA scores globally even in comparison to other countries with similar economic profiles. With this, the Malaysian government, namely the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and Yayasan Hasanah has collaborated to lead a nationwide initiative, Programme Anak Kita, to tackle the learning recovery issue particularly in foundational literacy and numeracy.Teach For Malaysia is one of the many implementation partners under the Programme Anak Kita and will be running Project KALIS (Kemahiran Asas Literasi dan Numerasi) in 105 schools in Johor. This 18-month project aims to support teachers and students in 'kelas pemulihan' (remedial class) in primary schools by preparing and utlising high quality toolkits, enhancing the capacity of teachers, and engaging the broader community in sustainably support the mastery of foundational literacy and numeracy skills among primary schools students.I am elated to be the Programme Management Senior Associate of Project KALIS in driving the larger goal of addressing the learning recovery in Malaysia. My responsbilities will include Project Monitoring and Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation, Documentation and Project Finance Reporting, Operations and Coordination, and Stakeholder Engagement.

• Followed up, organised, and maintained over 300 UNESCO Qualifications Passport (UQP) applications database over 5 years• Coordinated and organised the capacity building of over 30 credential evaluators that were trained across 5 modules for the upwards of 30 evaluations conducted from the UQP applications submitted• Planned, organised, and coordinated up to 3 milestone events, 2 missions, and the UQP webinars of 2024• Reported and presented on the regular implementation progress of the initiative on the global and regional scale to internal and external stakeholders, key implementation partners, and government officials for monitoring and evaluation• Developed the 2024 communication strategy, addressed the backend issues of the UQP digital platform including privacy notices and data protection assessments, and drafted the UQP brochure update• Conducted desk research and presented the findings on the comparisons of international higher education ranking systems for the series of upcoming webinars that will be held in 2024

• Provided support in coordination work with key stakeholders at the national and regional level of up to 5 member states• Organised and coordinated up to 5 webinars, 2 missions and events, 1 retreat, and multiple meetings and conferences• Drafted key project documents including meeting agendas, minutes, invitations, correspondence, and UQP initiative website design• Conducted desk research on the education systems of 6 coutries in the African and Middle Eastern region alongside the recognition mechanisms of all Latin American and Carribean countries as part of the UQP’s mapping initiatives• Drafted the communication strategy, managed the UQP webpage and video updates, and liased with various stakeholders with any and all communication items including promotional materials and information booklets
