I am a strong technical professional who is solid in many facets of IT. I thrive in fast paced environments and am adept at root-cause analysis because I know how most parts of the environment fits together. I am always much more than my job titles and I can set up an environment from the ground up but I can also trace packets, tweak an application script a solution, query a SQL database or remediate a PSOD.I love brain storming new designs but I also enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting a tough issue. Even if I have never heard of the hardware or software, I quickly learn what I need to get to the root of any issue or set up a solid system. For example, a project lead was unable to get NTP to the DCs working on the physical devices he was setting up on the line. However, he had to stop troubleshooting to fly to Germany for another issue so he asked me to look at it. I had never seen an HMI or PLC device before but I know NTP. I found that the NTP functioned on a VM server in the same subnet and vlan so the overall networking was sound. Then I Googled to get a solid understanding of how it all was supposed to work together. I found vendor documentation stating NTP was supposed to be from the PLC on the line, not the DCs. I had no access to the PLC so searched and found a screenshot of the PLC’s NIC configuration and saw that the gateway IP was wrong. One of the employees thought the small transparent switch IP on the line was the router. We applied a new configuration and were able to stay on schedule.Lastly, I am very documentation oriented and am careful to construct documentation with the audience in mind. I regularly create end user documentation to resolve minor inconveniences themselves as well as for marketing campaigns. I document virtually all my duties so that anyone with on the IT team could take care of an issue if I am unavailable. Examples of documentation I’ve created are attached.
