Neami is a community mental health organisation supporting people living with mental illness to improve their health, live independently and pursue a life based on their own strengths, values and goals. During my time as Group CFO, the organisation experienced significant growth: revenue increased to ~$100m with over 1,100 staff providing support for 10,000 consumers and NDIS participants. I have led a team of 60+ staff with responsibilities in legal matters, mergers & acquisitions, financial planning & analysis, transaction and compliance management, internal and external reporting, treasury operations, fleet and property, IT infrastructure, operations and applications. Key Achievements during this period include:• overseeing the development and successful execution of the Group IT strategy which enabled continuity of service for consumers during the Covid-19 pandemic.• M&A due diligence & negotiations resulting in 3 successful acquisitions. Integrated financial management processes and systems, established appropriate internal controls, reported to Boards and led teams through a period of significant change. • developed the framework and business plan for sustainably delivering NDIS support services via Me Well• periodically appointed acting Neami Group CEO and Company Secretary for both Neami & Me Well

Neami Limited reported revenue of $21.1m and employed 250 staff as at June 2009. I reported to the Manager Corporate Services, CEO and Board of Directors. Key Achievements during this period include:• successful implementation of TechnologyOne ERP integrating various applications and spreadsheets used for accounting, budgeting, asset management, payroll, HR, recruitment and staff development. Assumed role of the system administrator and XLOne reporting analyst for TechnologyOne• telecommunications review resulting in a reduction of landline & mobile costs by 33%• co-authored the Neami Leadership Development Program with NMIT. This program was subsequently purchased by the Mental Health Coordinating Council (NSW)

In 2002, Neami Inc was a Victorian-based mental health organisation [$2.3m revenue & 49 staff]. Reporting to the CEO and Committee of Management, my key responsibilities included managing and developing the administration, payroll and finance team, leading the tendering and organisational budget process, business planning and all aspects of financial reporting. I was accountable for the creation and implementation of all finance related strategies, policies, procedures, guidelines and systems of internal control, ensuring compliance with legislative and other obligations.Key Achievements during this period include:• implemented a new HRIS and internal controls• participated in the strategic decision for Neami to operate interstate and developed the financial model that secured a third of all available funding in 2002 for the Housing Accommodation and Support Initiative (HASI) in New South Wales. The success of this tender was the catalyst for Neami’s growth on a national scale. The budget format developed for the tender submission became the NGO contract acquittal template for NSW Health.

Out Doors Inc. is a state-wide Victorian not-for-profit organisation that delivers adventure and recreation programs for people at risk or living with poor mental health. Programs support participants to live independently, keep physically and mentally active and develop formal and informal social relationships using the medium of the natural environment.Reporting to the CEO and Council of Management, the role involved:• management of all financial, administrative and human resource aspects of the business, including the establishment of internal controls, development of policies and procedures and company secretarial requirements• processing fortnightly payroll including in-house salary packaging for up to 50 staff• the production of budgets and forecasts, monthly financial reports, and statutory returns• preparing the Annual Special Purpose Financial Report and Financial acquittal reports for funding bodies and the Outdoors Inc.
