As the WCG Design Manager and Engineering lead, my responsibilities included acting as technical lead across all project stages from tender, feasibility, concept design to detailed design and providing technical support during construction, commissioning and operational phases. Being a small size company, my duties extended across the whole business including BD, new product development and commercialisation, supplier and client contract negotiation, research and development and IP/Patent development. As the appointed health and safety officer for all projects at WCG, I also combined my knowledge of the legislation and construction practices into safe and practical designs.My main responsibilities comprised: • Performing and delivering all process related package of work from feasibility studies, concept designs to detailed designs. • Providing support or directly managing all other internal and external design packages (electrical, mechanical, SCADA etc,). • Ensuring that, while the design is typically divided into separate packages, the deliveries were consistent across the board, by effectively communicating decisions and design changes. • Coordinating with design team members and developing design schedules to ensure compliance with client requirements • Administering finances and program progress for design phase• Organising HAZOP and SID• Managing and attending FAT & SAT• Participating in various design management meetings for client projects.• WWTP commissioning and management of process performance proving.

I worked in a multi-disciplinary team developing and applying my skills across Water/wastewater engineering, Environmental assessment (Water quality), Risk assessment and Dangerous good/contaminated land disciplines. Some of the projects are listed below:  -Wandoan Water Treatment Plant Upgrade, Western Down Regional Council - Design, estimates and tender documentation  -Nebo Road Water Treatment Plant, Mackay Infrastructure Alliance - process verification report. Revised and issued a report reflecting on the client understanding and ownership of the processes and design for the Nebo Road WTP upgrade. -Peplin, Peplin Pharmaceutical - Design of a wastewater treatment unit for high COD and TSS wastewater.  -Lady Annie Copper Mine, Freehills and the Receivers and Managers. Water treatment of contaminated creek and ongoing water and sediment quality monitoring following the discharged of contaminated water into the environment (elevated heavy metals and pH down to 3). Assessed the sites compliance with the EPOs, and the Environmental Evaluation Notice (EEN) issued by DERM and verify the associated works undertaken  -Water quality lead: Baseline assessment of surface water and sediment quality as well as local & cumulative potential impacts of the following mine and gas projects: o Future Gas , Santos Pty Ltd o The Range, Stanmore Coal Limited o MDL 162, Macarthur Coal. o Curragh West, Westfarmers. o Alpha Mine, Hancock Prospecting o Tampakan Mine Philippines, Xstrata. - Risk assessment through computer simulations (flash fire, liquid pool fire, generation of toxic smoke plume and exposure to harmful vapour) for: o Victorian Desalination Project (2010), PB Beca JV o Newman Petroleum o Kerraway Power Station, Origin Energy. o Dalby Biorefinery,

Managed a successful research project to investigate: -The impact of continuous chlorination system on water quality parameters and efficiency against the Legionella bacteria.  -The formation of by-products created by chlorination systems and presenting potential health hazards. I subsequently undertook a state-wide compliance and performance audits in collaboration with Dalkia and Aquabellec Technology. Performed. The technologies audited included chlorination pump injection system, redox sensor, water softening system and network design

Duties:-Initiate a synthetic and structural study of phospho-allenes and their dimers of the technical specifications for the study.-Determine the most efficient syntesis to obtain a yield of at least 20%.-Work within a team of 5 Ph.D students.Achievements:-Identification of a 16-step synthesis to obtain the desired product.-Generation of a new organometallic allene, and application of a step-wise mechanism of their dimerization to luminescent tetracenes. The latter might have potential applications in the treatment of breast cancer.
