Responsible for Africa Operations, Technology and Separation from Barclays for 10 banks on the continent. The Barclays decoupling was one of the world’s largest change programs run from June 2017 until June 2020. Some key Separation highlights are as follows:▪ Core banking lift and drop for 6 Africa countries which included 293 server builds, 2363 firewalls implemented, 14100 file transfers, 85 interfaces configured and tested and 1365 test cases executed with zero call centre complaints related to this migration.▪ The Digital channels migration included all 10 countries. We built 180 servers, total number of services migrated was 520, 1.75TB of data moved and 13,105 total calls received that weekend of which 22 were complaints.▪ Our card programme has seen us completely replace 14 applications with 3. After 15 years on Base24 Switch we moved to the PowerCard Switch and we use Powercard for the Acquiring business for our 12 781 merchants and 18 701 POS machines. ▪ We also migrated 935 ATM’s off the Barclays PLC domain, with an upgrade to the Sparrow hub from v84.04 to v84.07. We built 93 servers and implemented 3451 firewall changes and achieved an average uptime post migration of 94%.▪ A critical success has also been the complete rewrite of our Teller application covering 52 processes writing over 200 000 lines of code and training 2463 users across 6 countries. ▪ Other activities have been the migration of a further 105 applications and 10609 users and devices off the Barclays PLC domain, which also included the replacement of every desktop and laptop in the Africa estate.▪ We also completed the rebranding of every branch, ATM, forms, stationery, uniforms and applications from Barclays to Absa in February 2020.▪ Our final project is the upgrade of our Card Issuing application and migration from the Barclays Plc data centre to the Fiserv Frankfurt data centre scheduled for 26 June 2020.

I was also instrumental in building a new dynamic Application Development team and enhancing the Cloud services business. My role also required inspiring people whilst unlocking the talent and potential of people within the context of South Africa, rest of Africa and the World.
