I have been devoted to research and active involvement in Organ Donation and Transplantation activities for many years. I worked for over 6 years as an Organ and Tissue Donation Coordinator (OTDC), in Brazil. In this position, I coordinated projects, innovations, and teams, and led national organ donation campaigns. My research expertise is focused in quality improvement and program evaluation, specifically in organ donation settings.I completed my PhD at Queen’s University (School of Nursing), and my dissertation research, funded by the Kidney Foundation, focused on investigating, through a Social Network Analysis approach, the role of organ and tissue donation coordinators (OTDC) and the complexity of organ donation processes. I am a former trainee of two of the the Kidney Research Scientist Core Education Program (KRESCENT) and I have been a trainee of the Canadian Donation and Transplantation Program (CDTRP) since 2017, two of the main national research groups in Organ Donation and Transplantation in Canada. I currently work as a research coordinator at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and lead the investigation of burnout among donation coordinators, with the support and collaboration of Canadian Blood Services and key organ donation researchers nationally and internationally.
