Vanessa is a Project Architect at Perkins&Will Miami. She is also an educator, teaching design studios and environmental technology courses at Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining the team at Perkins& Will, Vanessa worked as a Project manager at VIA Design Studio, where she managed educational projects in the K-20 sector. Vanessa also acted as the BIM manager, maintaining standards and teaching staff how to design and model in a 5D BIM environment.Committed to building a more equitable profession, Vanessa has served on the National Organization of Minority Architects Chapter boards in South Florida (SoFloNOMA) and Louisiana (NOMALA). Vanessa also serves on the AIA Miami Women in Architecture Committee, helping plan the biannual Women’s Leadership Conference. After receiving her MArch from Tulane University, Vanessa worked at Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, 2014 AIA Architecture Firm Award Recipient. At EDR, Vanessa had the opportunity to work on several renovation projects under the historic tax credit review process. She was also a Sustainability Champion, bringing evidence based design expertise to the project team.
