To build this movement, we need to radically simplify political action. We focus on state legislature elections—races that play a huge role in national elections but are often overlooked. Information about these races is hard to find, and busy people don’t have the time to sift through it. That’s where we come in. We’ll tell you which races are more important, who’s running, and how you can support them.

The state of California requires certain hazards to be disclosed prior to the closing of escrow. I performed spatial analysis on natural hazards for properties involved in real estate transactions.I also maintained the GIS used to perform these analyses. Tasks included communicating with city planning departments for updated layers and reports, sorting through FEMA flood documents and maps, updating Airport Influence Areas (ALUC), Seismic and Safety Elements (SSEs), Military Ordnance, and Tsunami Inundation zones.

Contracted to Pacific Gas & Electric to help manage vegetation surrounding high voltage equipment.

Assisted in the development of and led an environmental after-school program for a charter high school. Directed a group of 10-15 students in community restoration projects in the East Bay.

Interned twice: In 2013 I worked on a remote sensing, climate modeling and hydrology project at NASA Ames Research Center with the DEVELOP Program. The project was developed in conjunction with National Park Service - Yosemite. Used Hydrology Tools and Model Builder in ArcGIS as well as ERDAS Imagine for image analysis. Worked with SSURGO and STATSGO soil databases for hydrological modeling. In 2008 I Worked within the same program with a different research team exploring the use of Landsat and ASTER imagery to create a monitoring technique for biological control agents. Wrote an ASPRS-published technical paper as well as led a formal technical session at the 2008 ASPRS conference.

Worked on Yosemite's Vegetation work crew. Eliminated and mapped invasive species. Worked on restoration projects and led public work groups within the park. Developed methods for vegetation management using GIS.
