Certificated pilot, with over 10 years of experience in the aviation industry.I received my initial aviation training at Aurora Aviation in Oregon, soloed in a Cessna 152 at age 16, became a Certificated Pilot at 17, and have held almost every position that an FBO requires. I truly love general aviation on a local level, and will always be involved in the industry as an enthusiast and advocate. In May of 2014, I was one of eight pilots chosen to fly 'left seat' in Terrafugia's flying car during the two-person flight testing operations. In 2013, after my goddaughter's harrowing medical experience with a congenital heart defect, I co-founded Pure Hearts Boston, a foundation that raises money to benefit pediatric cardiology research at Boston Children's Hospital. Now in its fourth year, Pure Hearts is committed to maintaining a 0% overhead, and has raised over $42,000 so far this year. Currently, I serve as an Industry Advisor for sophomores at MIT, and as the Vice Chair of the Eastern New England Ninety-Nines, an international organization of female pilots created for the "advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support." I also have volunteered on a number of sustainability initiatives, including an agricultural research project with the City of Boston, and with the World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms organization in Hungary.
