Vanessa Bley is a NYC and Los Angeles based singer, composer, producer and musician. She is daughter of late jazz pianist Paul Bley and pioneer video artist Carol Goss. In 2010, after years of developing her sound and performing between NY and LA, Bley began writing music with Grammy winning producer Stuart Matthewman of SADE, forming the group Twin Danger. In 2012 Bley formed Space Camp Radio Records, an evolution from her environmentalist rock n roll radio show, and released her debut solo album. In the summer of 2012 Bley formed the band Beast Patrol, stemming from the psychedelic, haze-pop influence of her solo album and released the EP Fierce & Grateful. Rolling Stone noted the group as a “Band to Watch” which led to performing at Lollapalooza and a mini tour of Southern CA. In 2014, Beast Patrol released their follow-up EP, Unarm Yourself, and Twin Danger signed to Universal Classics. In 2015, Twin Danger released their debut self-titled album, which went to number 1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart and received 4 stars from Downbeat, leading to an interview on NPR’s All Things Considered and shows around the world including Tokyo, LA and Austin’s SXSW. In addition to her bands Bley scores, produces and mixes for various projects. In 2014 Bley scored a perfume installation for International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and Sony Arcade. In 2015 Bley edited the audio for the film Eyes of the Moon, which debuted at Marfa Film Festival in Texas. Last fall, Bley relocated to LA where she is currently writing and recording her second solo album, soaking up the sun and collaborating with many of LA’s finest, including psychedelic visual artist Future Eyes. “This coast brings about something vibrant and loose that I lost touch with.
