Responsible for managing uploads of Wilson Library’s mass digitization projects and patron requests to the library's online content management system. Duties include performing quality control inspections and edits of scanned images, processing digital images for archival storage, collecting and converting metadata for uploads, and uploading collections to ContentDM.

Assist with public relations, preparation, and scheduling of the pop-up library project. Conduct literacy-based activities with pre-readers and school-aged children. Assist with transporting, shelving, and stocking materials and supplies. Provide direct customer service to children and adults both in the library and off-site. Assist with program assessments. Assist with working in the main library in the children's and teen rooms.

Daily duties include management of content in news, coordination of art and supervision of the execution of our newsroom budget by the offsite design team. I work to develop stories with staff with an emphasis on local coverage originating out of our core of Henderson and Vance County but also including, as able, Warren County and the northern half of Granville County. I also supervise producing stories online and guide the newspaper's social media presence. I mentor the reporters and provide feedback to allow them to improve. I created, decluttered and enforce the style guide for the paper. I expanded coverage of business, agriculture and health issues. I write editorials and articles as needed. I edit local and wire copy before inclusion in the newspaper.

I manage one reporter and a group of freelancers, interns and community volunteers to bring different perspectives to the papers and expand their breadth. I edit every single piece of editorial content that makes it into the newspapers for style, content and grammar while being mindful of keeping the writer’s voice. I work carefully to ensure the stylistic integrity of each piece. I created and enforce the style guide for our newspapers, ensuring consistency across our products. I gathered input from other editors in the group and wrote the Womack Publishing social media policy for the entire company. I introduced a more thorough proofing procedure that lead to a decrease in errors. I increased our presence on social media and my own presence in the community to increase engagement in our readers and other stakeholders. I lay out and plan content for a weekly newspaper, weekly advertising supplement and monthly tabloid paper. I increased traffic to the paper’s website by adding online-only content. I research and wrote stories and columns for all of the products. I redesigned the News of Orange and the Woodcroft Gazette to make them more modern, more streamlined and easier to read. I take pictures using Canon and Nikon DSLRs and do post-production work in Photoshop.

I expanded coverage of Orange County Schools, developing relationships with teachers, administrators and Central Office staff to get stories no one else told. I researched and wrote stories on a variety of topics, including government and budgets, legal matters and environmental issues. I started and posted daily to a blog, Facebook page and Twitter account, connecting with readers and community members. I took pictures using Canon and Nikon DSLRs and did post-production work in Photoshop. I edited copy for style, content and grammar. I laid out pages in Adobe InDesign.

I was responsible for covering crime and courts in Lenoir County. I also covered Snow Hill and Greene County governments.As a copy editor, I designed pages and edited stories for the daily paper.

I pitched and wrote feature and enterprise stories for the weekly section of a daily newspaper.
