Involved in multiple exercise programs within the Lifestyle Management Institute, including Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Risk Reduction and Weight Management. Also was a member of the Cardiology team aiding in the performance of regular, echocardiographic and nuclear stress tests.Responsibilities include patient scheduling, personalized exercise prescription, development and implementation of patient education programs, and maintenance of exercise equipment.

Nuclear Cardiology

Responsibilities include prepping patients for 12-lead ECG and setting them up to participate in exercise and/or pharmacological stress tests. Preliminary ECG interpretation and recognition of arrhythmias. Must have the skills necessary to recognize absolute and relative contraindications to exercise. Must have knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, and basic knowledge of commonly encountered cardiovascular and pulmonary medications. Maintenance of laboratory inventory and equipment is also required.

Working with a team of physiologists and nurses, help to oversee various exercise-based programs, including Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation. Responsible for creating personalized exercise prescriptions for each of the patients, as well as teaching patient education classes.

Assist physical therapists by exercising their patients when they see fit, removing patients from treatment modalities, and any other assistance they may require. Also have taken upon many clerical duties to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Taught both undergraduate Exercise Physiology laboratory sessions as well as graduate level Clinical Skills laboratory sessions. Responsibilities include preparing lab activities, grading, as well as maintaining the upkeep of the laboratory and its equipment..

Worked with students in the Undergraduate Exercise Physiology teaching labs and providing tutoring as needed.

Assisted graduate students in running a large scale clinical trial testing the effects of statin use on muscular strength and endurance. Was responsible for recruiting and screening potential subjects as well as act as a second during blood draws and exercise stress testing.
