G'day from sunny Brisbane, Australia,I wear several hats; I'm what they call a serial entrepreneur, I'm also an investor, an independent Non-Executive Director & Chair, a wife and mum of 4.I've always hated the idea that I should just wear one hat! I like the juggle, I just love business...finding a solution to a problem just ignites a fire in my belly.In my 30+ years of business experience I have founded 25 companies, 2 have scaled to 10 figures annually, 12 I've scaled globally with revenues of 9 figures annually and I’ve successfully exited and acquired 20 businesses. And only 2 I took on investment, I boot strapped the rest.I’ve been recognised with some of the biggest business awards against men, women, young, old. And I’ve also failed at times and took a step back & learnt.I have deep experience in FMCG consumer products sector; having supplied products to almost every major retailer globally; across 29 categories; selling millions of products and partnering with brands including Warner Bros, Apple, Lucas Films, Mattel, Philips, Kodak, Samsung, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Walgreens, Tesco, Costco and dozens more. That has led me to start LANDRAN VENTURES, a fund created to back women. It's not rocket science; Women DO think differently to Men. The way we do business, the support we need is different; and before anyone mansplains to me that this isn't needed; I just want to say, Whilst I navigated the field of business myself - I do want this to be easier for other women.My role as Chair of the boards I’m on only heightens my need to have a fund that supports women.I have sat in meetings with the largest banks, private equity and VC firms, government, family offices and I can tell you that of hundreds of meetings, I can count on one hand how many of those meetings had a woman on the other side of table, how can there not be a bias (even if it us an unconscious one). So I figure I need to put my money where my mouth is & start a fund alongside a host of incredible investors to support fast growing female-led businesses to scale faster and make the path easier.I’ve been so fortunate to have some of the greatest men I know cheer me on. And they have been incredible in helping me, now we help the next generation of women.
