As Program Manager, I was responsible for delivering many facets of the WildSafeBC Program, with the ultimate goal of keeping wildlife wild and communities safe. This involved working with a team to hire 25-30 local community coordinators each season and ensure they were well-trained and supported.Other key responsibilities included writing grant proposals, working with multiple partners (local governments, the Province, First Nations, and other NGOs), writing annual reports, supporting bear hazard assessments and human-bear conflict management plans, overseeing the bear-resistant product testing program, fielding questions from the public and media, creating content for social media and the WildSafeBC website and developing new programs and initiatives that aligned with our strategic goals. I also leaned on my electrical background to provide electric fencing workshops. In addition, I embraced innovation by creating and promoting our suite of online eLearning courses. I also provided in-person industry-recognized training on Wildlife Awareness and Safety including bear spray training. As more people become informed about wildlife, their habitat needs and behaviours, we can learn what actions to take in order to better coexist for the benefit of all.

As Starter Plant Sales Representative, I assist clients in sourcing young plants for their projects in ecological restoration, reclamation, landscaping, living roofs and walls, and nursery production. Most of the plants grown at NATS Nursery are native species grown from seed which increases their genetic diversity and resilience. We supply plants across North America with a focus on the Pacific Northwest.

I worked with a team to identify and enumerate salmonid fry, parrs and smolts in the Cheakamus River system. Juvenile salmonids were captured using full-river fences, partial river traps and rotary screw traps (RST). Mark-recapture techniques such as Visual Implant Elastomer (VIE) wre used to make population estimates. Chinook salmon outmigration and estuary use was monitored using beach seines.

As a summer student with the Squamish River Watershed Society, I participated in a number of projects. Some were independent while others involved working with a team of individuals. These included:- wetland monitoring - fish sampling - invasive plant removal- public awareness events- estuary sedge transplants - leading a salmon education station with over 700 participants in grades 3 to 7As well as other research, monitoring projects and a short video. The ability to perform a wide variety of tasks provided many learning opportunities.
