Provide growth opportunities for businesses and individuals through Organizational Development and Professional Development training. Assist organizations with expertise in organizational start-up, marketing, new service/program development, personnel and partnership recruitment, business/strategic planning, digital marketing, sales funnel, branding, etc. Experience in helping organizations move services online and growing their web presence. Professional Development opportunities with short and long-term programs. Projects have been completed virtually and on location. Utilize expertise in facilitating retreats, meetings, and forums to aid in efficiency and decision making. Previous clients include professional organizations, small businesses, higher education, non-profits, local governments, corporations, and NC Small Business Centers. Major projects have included Customer Service in Higher Education training for 300 employees at Wayne Community College, established Training Program for state-wide association, created an online therapy program for small business owner, over 25 hours of training programs through NC Small Business Network, created Development/Fundraising department for nonprofit, facilitated annual board retreat for Literacy Connections Wayne County. My goal is to better position people and organizations for success!

Serve as an instructor to students in the traditional and non-traditional undergraduate programs. Classes have been taught in-person as well as online using the Moodle LMS. Courses developed include Public Speaking, Effect Presentations and Facilitation, and Writing for Ag Communications.

I had the pleasure of Advancing the Mission of the YMCA through connecting our stories with the community, enhancing the member experience, growing and maintaining memberships, setting a culture of customer service, raising money for the organization, and so much more! Efforts resulted in raising $250,000 for the organization in one year.

Management and operation of program departments at the Y including, health & wellness, fitness, youth fitness, preschool, afterschool care, mentor program, chronic disease prevention programs, and more. Managed approximately 50 part-time employees. Accounted for risk management and new initiatives in designated areas. Member of senior leadership team guiding the path for the Y.

Manage the county 4-H Youth Development program, including budgeting, planning, marketing, fundraising, program development, and staff supervision. Communication specialist writing press releases, news articles, newsletters, weekly emails, etc. Develop community by serving as liaison for Cooperative Extension and 4-H to various community boards. Work directly with approximately 200 youth between the ages of 5-19. Develop innovative experiential learning opportunities for youth and adults. Recruit, train, and manage adult volunteers, reaching approximately 75 annually. Coordinate county, district, and state events for youth, including S.B.I. Academy, 4-H Citizenship Academy, Teen Council, Youth L.E.A.D., etc. Train and mentor colleagues, youth, and volunteers through one-on-one contact, local trainings, statewide conferences. Write grants to support program innovations, such as Wake Up to Extension community breakfasts. Conduct needs assessments and evaluations. Complete state and federal annual reports.

Started a successful one-on-one mentor program for Wayne County, NC. Match role models with at-risk youth by recruiting, training, and screening mentors, mentees, and their parents. Served as community liaison by serving on committees, creating publications, and presenting presentations. Primary program fund raiser, obtaining community donations, grants, and fundraising events. Coordinated programs and staff for the mentoring aspect of Wayne County’s 21st Century grant middle school program

Coordinator of 4-H Weekend Academies for Youth, including planning educational workshops and activities for at-risk youth. Recruited and managed 30 NCSU students in counselor positions. Promoted in 3-yr sequence from counselor to workshop coordinator to program director based on exemplary performance.

Assisted graduate student in studying virus protein interaction with host factors. Performed many laboratory procedures including media preparation, electrophoresis, protein purification, gene clean, and recombinant DNA techniques. Maintained detail laboratory notebook with procedures, results, and comparative data.
