Cognitive Behaviour theory changed my life (nope, I’m not exaggerating!) by helping me change parts of my behaviour & thinking that I thought were “Just how I am”.There were things I kept trying to do differently but no matter how hard I tried, when it came down to it things weren't budging. So I learned how to change my thinking. And I practised this new thinking alongside the behaviour changes that I wanted to create. And it worked. But it’s not just me that says it works, it’s an evidence based approach...and there is a lot of evidence! Meanwhile, back in my career I realised that the consistent theme, and the bit that I am best at, is creating change…so I made it official and became an Executive Coach specialising in Cognitive Behaviour approaches. I trained with the Centre for Coaching in London who have pioneered the development of evidence-based coaching. I work with people to create the changes that they want to make, so that they can change their lives too.I use models and techniques that will:• Help you to look at things differently• Challenge your thinking • Help you to think differently• Help you to behave differentlyI’m not saying it’s easy. It can be toe curling! But tolerating the discomfort of the change process is part of the process. And wow, it’s worth it. As Michael Neenan says “If it ain’t feeling strange, you ain’t experiencing change!”
