As the Technical Product Owner for ThoughtWire's core machine intelligence platform and de-facto architect for the organization, I am responsible for the architectural vision of all of the company's offerings, as well as the platform roadmap. This platform is a complex, event-driven, distributed system with both cloud and edge components. Requirements for high-availability, scalability, modifiability and developer experience are high.A major element of my role is mentoring other engineers in the practice of software architecture, assisting them with design decisions, and improving overall engineering practice through design- and code-reviews. As a hands-on architect, I concentrate on writing code that will provide the most leverage to the various teams, such as libraries, APIs, frameworks and prototypes. I also drive large-scale initiatives that will make significant impacts to our business objectives and goals.

I'm co-founder and Chief Architect of Oponia Networks, Inc. Our core technology is a distributed bridge between the Web and a self-organizing network overlay. This bridge and overlay enable the Web's protocols to operate both ways between any two network-connected nodes regardless of network location, topology or conditions--including roaming. Applications include personal Web publishing, remote device management, and ubiquitous Web Services.In the Spring of 2009, oponia sold its technology to Edgedin Corporation for use in machine-to-machine applications such as smart services.

Developed a desktop film-making application in Java for the Collaborative Multimedia Research Group. This project was one of the very first to use Apple's QuickTime system software from inside Java and was later commercialized by Expresto! Software.
