I have worked for Prisma Health Baptist since 1983. I began my career there as a Student Nurse Technician on a Medical unit. I became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1985 and continued to work on a medical unit until I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1988. At that time I began working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. During my time here, I was a staff nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, member of the Neonatal Transport team, Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist. During this time I was also an Adjunct Faculty at the University of South Carolina working with first semester junior nursing students on medical surgical acute care units. In 2013, I became the Director of Medical Surgical Services. In this role I oversee the day to day care of the medical and surgical units on the campus. I love being a nurse and have found it to be the most rewarding career. I have learned and grown in each role that I have served in. I care for every patient and family that I come in contact with daily and feel it is important that I role model this behavior for my team..
