I was at the top of my game in my career. After a 21-year in the University Extension system in youth development, leadership, and volunteer education, I retired myself so that I could be home with an increasingly busy family and growing farm enterprise. The decision to leave my profession was the right decision for me and the right decision for my family at that point in time.Over the course of the next six years, however, I found myself in a state of loss. I lost my happy, lost my purpose, and further lost my health. As a natural introvert, I loved being home. Yet little by little--ok, let’s be real as it was more like a lot by a lot--I was in the spiral. My confidence disappeared and was replaced by insecurity. Knowing my worth in the world vanished and in its place was fear. I felt so unworthy of love that I pushed my blessings away on the daily. Enter an acquaintance who contacted me just 48 hours after my rock bottom moment. She asked if she could share something with me, and what she shared changed the trajectory of my life. It started with my health. In eight days my happy returned, my pain from an autoimmune disease had markedly diminished, 10 pounds had fallen off my body, energy from my 20’s came back to stay, and my anxiety went on vacation…for life!On day ten I started my own business. That was something I had never considered. I had no idea that serving people and creating something of my own could be so fulfilling. And that was just the beginning.Two years later I started listening to God nudges and my inner compass. I knew I was made to do more. I wanted to teach again. I wanted to coach people. I introduced myself to mentors whom I desired to emulate. I invested in their coaching. I discovered and leaned into my super powers. My territory expanded. It started with creating a group to serve, serve, serve. I quickly learned that the more one serves others, the more one will receive. I created free content and then offered courses. This led to coaching clientele in social media leveraging, business strategy and life. As I honored my skills, I listened to the God nudges that led me to more areas of coaching and learning. The more I opened my view of the future, the more I was given direction, and the more people I connected with and served.
