My most recent job was as a communications strategist for Diálogo Brasil (DB), an initiative of Climate and Land Use (CLUA) to strengthen the communications of socioenvironmental organizations. Over three years, I designed and implemented a Strategic Communication Learning Journey offered to 21 organizations and accompanied the development of two similar trainings, one exclusively for indigenous communicators. • Clients for press relations, media training, and preparation of spokespeople: UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Animal Equality, IBGE Workers’ Union (campaign against the budget cut for the Census), and Articulação Internacional dos Atingidos e Atingidas pela Vale. • Mentoring for press officers: Fogo Cruzado, among others. • Preparation of strategic planning: Aliança pela Alimentação Adequada e Saudável Mentoria, Animal Equality, and Instituto Comida e Cultura.

• International communications coordinator for the Amazon Protection campaign, responsible for developing communication strategies against the São Luiz do Tapajós hydroelectric dam construction. The activities included drafting and aligning the narratives of the campaign’s communication and fundraising materials developed by Greenpeace Brazil and other partner countries. • Some results achieved: press trips with El País (Spain), Corriere della Sera (Italy), Volkskrant (Netherlands), and ARD (Germany), which resulted in excellent news coverage.

Press Officer responsible for the media relations in Brazil, creating and implementing media strategies, writing briefings, releases, and other materials to support the area, preparing spokespeople for interviews, developing projects to increase the interest of journalists and students, and improving coverage of humanitarian aid issues. Some results achieved: • Monitoring of reports citing MSF, which in 2015 totaled 7,017 stories. • Creation and organization of the workshop “Humanitarian Aid on the Agenda,” which, in two complete editions and six pocket sessions, reached more than 500 people (journalism students and professionals). • Organization of international press trips with media outlets such as Jornal Nacional, O Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S. Paulo, and G1. • Trip to Bolivia with journalist Eliane Brum to research the Chagas Disease for the book “Dignidade” (Dignity) • Three weeks in Mozambique in 2013 to bolster the communications team that coordinated events with the press in different African countries to raise awareness of the increase in HIV/AIDS in the region. • Speaker at the annual congress of the Association of Investigative Journalism (ABRAJI) in 2014. 2) Interim Communications Director (March to Oct. 2014): Responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising communication strategies to increase MSF’s visibility in Brazil, managing a team of nine people. I was also responsible for ensuring the alignment of the Brazilian communication strategy with MSF’s 27 international offices. Some results achieved by the team under my leadership: • Exhibition “A Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City” in Porto Alegre, Curitiba, and Belo • Horizonte, which was attended by an average of 5,000 visitors in each city. • Elaboration of a press strategy and crisis management due to the sudden increase in requests for interviews caused by the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the largest in history.
