This a Community Mental Health project by 3 partners- myself, Vidyavardhini Foundation and Dr Vikram Pal. Presently we are in the phase of exploration and baseline needs assessment survey.

This is my main work.Since the pandemic (May 2020), I have changed my consulting format to 'by appointment only' to avoid crowding. All new patients must be examined by me in person; no remote consulting is offered for new cases. I offer teleconsultation follow ups. Appointments can be booked by calling clinic on 9819269748 between 10am to 1pm on weekdays. I assess and offer treatment plan to persons of all ages.

Dr Jayant Barve, Senior Gastroenterologist is the owner of this hospital. I find it very engaging work..diagnosis of functional GI disorders and comorbid mental illness. Dr Barve has a strong academic knowledge and we have very good discussions too

Primary work was diagnosis and treatment of patients below 18years.

Sometimes patients visiting this hospital need assessment or treatment for psychiatric disorders and I am called over to assist in that. I take over treatment and follow up of patients if they so desire.

My work involved working at bed side in wards and icu and in nonclinical areas to take care of mental health issues of patients, family members and health care staff. I had to make the plan of work for my team of 2 psychologists and 2 social workers and provide medical treatment

I worked as a volunteer full- time for 2 weeksThereafter I continued to provide Psychiatry Tele-consultation alongwith once a week visits to facility for the following one month.

I assessed patients for medical opinion and fitness on a case by case basis

I had a daycare centre with full professional staff and took care of almost 20 kids through the five years. I had extra space in my clinic and time on my hands; my child needed daycare and I had an ideal vision of how a daycare should be- so I did this.the service was much appreciated- but my practice grew, I needed the space and staff members began retiring and the kids grew up to be able to stay at home with part- time help.I neither lost nor made money- but I learnt so much- education that no money can buy and is very useful in my child psychiatry work

I had committed to help the children's services for 2 years on a pro bono basis. I did medical management as well as simple therapies for special needs children who visited the centre for their other therapies. It was in a really far off place and the traffic was bad, so I decided not to continue after 2 years. I liked the work though.

I did medical consultations for children referred to me by the staff counselors and play room. I wanted to give more time to my practice, so I moved on

I enjoyed my work here. The was very stimulating and satisfying. The number of patients grew steadily and I needed to give more time. But management was firm on not increasing remuneration beyond 1200rs per month they paid me. So with a heavy heart, I had to leave

I did the medical management of mental illness among the employees of DAE...Department of Atomic Energy. It was only outpatient and consultation liaison work. Initially the prospects seemed great. but I soon realised the stagnant nature of work and poor working environment and the great salary and benefits could not convince me to stay.

A fresh MD, with stars in my eyes and air in my head, I stepped into this job. I managed all kinds of patients and home visits under Dr Shettys supervision. The work was good, environment great, BOSS was good and pay also decent. A large part of my confidence and success today is due to this great first job. I left to set my practice...which also was helped by BOSS. He persistently referred patients, and other work which helped pay my bills and sustain myself.
