Leading organization in dual function – one as maintenance and engineering of the airline, other one as MRO offering third party services. Key responsibilities were usual for such function, including nominated postholder maintenance, continuous airworthiness and technical training, but most important was working with people. Beside regular activities, focus was on fleet management and different projects such as purchasing new fleet, phasing out old airplanes, negotiating lease agreements, construction of new facilities, establishing new products, negotiations with unions. Special projects included construction of new hangar facility, new training center, additional workshops and new products and services for third parties.

Short time-out before new challenges I used to upgrade my knowledge and skills by being responsible for production and material planning and control, IT system management and engineering functions of the airline.

A new chapter! Opening of a new hangar, reorganization of maintenance department, new strategies and plans. It was intensive work 24/7 and in four years we improved line maintenance, made up new base maintenance organization, performed first heavy checks on ATR42, got JAR145 approval from German authorities and performed very first C checks and modifications for customers on A320.

The first 6 years in aviation and Croatia Airlines. Starting from simple engineering tasks, getting knowledge and experience in airline environment mainly consisting of turboprops and narrow body aircraft with focus on engines. In the meantime, short trip to world of QA. Finally, responsible for the whole engineering function, leading small team of engineers. Additional tasks included phase-out of old fleet and phase-in of new a/c type, aircraft deliveries, negotiations and contracts.
