Core log both production and exploration diamond drill core. Plan and create layouts for mine exploration drill holes. Aid in writing monthly and quarterly reports as required. Conduct field-based exploration soil sampling and trench-mapping programs.

Work in a remote camp setting and use geotechnical and core logging skills to log regional exploration NQ diamond drill surface core. Complete data entry for sampling and geophysical data obtained during drilling. Conduct collar lineups, APS surveys and drill inspections as required for new drill sites. Use organizational skills to keep work area tidy.

Through this role I had the opportunity to help undergraduate students learn the basics and more advanced theories of geology. One of my main responsibilities was running labs for igneous petrology and marking assignments for Earth, Art and Culture. This has provided me with excellent time management skills, made me more detail oriented and allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills.

My time with Lakeshore Gold/Tahoe Resources involved working on a new field project in Gowganda, Ontario. Duties included soil sampling the property, field mapping and channel sampling. Use ArcMap to create maps that emphasized Ontario businesses for different brochures and pamphlets. Assist in field work for research at the environmental management branch. Field work involved collecting soil samples and measuring crop populations.
