I am Van Ross. I attended Gwinnett Technical College and recently acquired my associate degree for Business Technology. I took additional courses to pursue their Medical Office Assistant concentration so that I may be capable of working in a variety of situations. All of my coursework has resulted in the acquisition of other additional certificates including Administrative Support Assistant, Microsoft Office Applications Professional, and Medical Billing Clerk technical certificates. I graduated with honors and earned membership into the National Technical Honor Society.During my education, I’ve learned all the skills necessary to work in an office setting, and my concentration in medical assisting has honed my skills for the office of a medical setting. My courses have gone over the foundations of a majority of Microsoft applications, medical terminology, medical billing and coding, and others. I have even done simulations of the office setting and simulations of the EHR computer system itself. In these simulations, I dealt with examples of situations that could occur in an office environment, assessed how to deal with patient confidentiality while following HIPAA, and input patient information into the computer system as you would in the real world.The knowledge I’ve gained from earning my degree plus my many years of experience in customer service make me a great candidate for a career in office administration.
