About Michael Van Sickle
I am pursuing my lifelong passion for learning and teaching.I bring over 25 years of experience in all aspects of the software industry with me as I help others take the next step in their careers. I have extensive experience with both live training, in the classroom and virtual, as well as creating courses for eLearning.I am trained and worked as a mechanical engineer for many years. During that valuable time, I honed my skills as a methodical problem solver - breaking large problems down into smaller, more manageable challenges. I quickly discovered that both teaching and programming benefited from this same approach and was assigned many projects in these areas.Eventually, I left mechanical engineering behind, but I have continued to create courses using the same philosophy that has served me so well. For me, teaching is the greatest and most rewarding challenge that I have found professionally. The investments that I make in taking a programming language or application framework and breaking it down into smaller, more approachable elements, and presenting it in a way that is valuable and engaging is made worthwhile when I see my students' eyes light up as they start to master their new skills.
