Leadership at LEM is shared. As collective courseleaders I share responsibility for our program with three other colleagues. My role focuses on Educational Development. The other focus areas are Personnel, Student Involvement and External Relations. Together with our teaching team of 20 people we provide a wonderful and meaningful educational experience for our 350+ students.

My role is to teach, to inspire and to develop the necessary skills on the producing site of creation.This is what we promise our students:"Develop a professional carreer that is creative and inspired, economically realistic and practical. Sinds oktober 2017 zijn Brit Rooswinkel en ik samen Duo Voorzitter van The New School Collective.The New School Collective verenigt docenten, pedagogen, kunstenaars, educatoren en architecten. The New School Collective is zelf een ‘experimentele collectieve school.’ Al onze activiteiten vinden plaats in de vrije tijd, want het Griekse scholé (σχολή) betekent onbepaalde tijd. We laten onze agenda thuis, maar nemen de wereld mee. Onze standplaats is Rotterdam, het netwerk nationaal en de verbeelding onbegrensd. The New School Collective werd door Mirjam van Tilburg geïnitieerd in 2013, in 2015 werd het een vereniging.

Currently I teach at the largest media & design college of Europe (MBO; Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam). I have a position as teacher of Small Business Management at the department of Mediamanagement. I am responsible for teaching as well as the development of a wide range of courses like Management & Organization, Online Marketing, Small Business Accounting and Event Management. Furthermore I am a coach/mentor for one sub-cohort of 30 students. Finally, I work with students in projectteams, in which they can apply their newly learnt knowledge and skills on real-world challenges.Finally, I coach our students throughout their internship and graduation projects. Together (school-company-student) we make sure that students reflect on their work experiences, so real learning becomes possible.It is awesome to be part of this learning journey!

In my role as LTV I coordinate the curriculum for the 2nd year of the Mediamanagement track. Main tasks are (informal) leadership in my team (5 collegues), creating and organising the yearly operational plan, keeping the curriculum up-to-date, acquiring assignments for our student projects, and being a critical friend to the Department Director, Together with the other LTVs I have to coordinate the entire curriculum of three years.

Within the dedicated Ben & Jerry's team I was responsible for all franchise shops and eventmanagement. My main achievement was 'project Super Premium': After a strategical analysis I proposed the termination of some retailshops and strengthening of others. After this project B&J Shops had a greater total turnover and brandbuilding power with about half the locations. With the focus on major music festivals plus some quirky selections I was responsible for the operations side of more than 20 brandactivation events each year.
