My research was focused on developing a generic framework for decision support during the process of cross-function team selection in either a static setting (one team required) or a dynamic setting (team changes required over the lifetime of a project). The novelty of this research lies in the integration of state-of-the-art modelling approaches in a number of domains, including multi-criteria decision making, time series forecasting and combinatorial optimisation.

The vacation work was split into two roles of four weeks each. The first four weeks focused on working on the ground level developing skills such as welding, metal bending/cutting and torching. An understanding of the procedures on ground level was needed for the development of a layout model for the construction of generator tanks over the next four weeks.

Updating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP) for various insurance claiming procedures at Old Mutual Insure. The previous procedure was documented and understood before improvements were suggested where possible waste could be eliminated and a best practice SOP would be implemented for various insurance claiming procedures.
