This included Walt Disney’s acquisition of UTV Entertainment, Reliance Industries (owned by India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani) buying Viacom’s India partner Network18, Rupert Murdoch exiting his Indian news venture, Sony Pictures Network and BBC forming alliance for India business, Aditya Birla Group (Fortune 500 company with revenues over $41 billion) acquiring stake in India Today media group.I interviewed Peter T. Grauer (Chairman, Bloomberg LP), James Murdoch, Andrew Cripps (Paramount Pictures) and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Indian director and producer Farhan Akhtar on entrepreneurship and innovation in cinema. I led investigations into the multi-billion-dollar Indian Premier League (Super Bowl of Cricket). I ended up publishing more than 110 stories in two years including three major investigations on tax evasions, forex violations, rigged bids and many more. I directed editorial strategy with other bureaus for these stories and kept on top of the breaking news situation. The series resulted in the cancellation of over $1.1 billion deal with World Sports Group, Sony, and Viacom and eventually led to the termination of a team involving the ownership structure.Also, I covered the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai as one of their lead reporters.
