I'm primarily responsible for defining the strategy for testing the web applications, native mobile apps and test automation of mobile apps and web applications. To be more elaborative, For Test Engineering, I design the architecture of test automation frameworks for mobile apps, web apps, hybrids (mobile app + web) and develop it. Help teams to write reliable and cleanly coded test scripts by enforcing necessary design patterns, reusable libraries and best practises via framework components. Track automated test coverage continuously and ensure there are no repeated manual tasks. For Functional / Manual Testing, I define the strategy for testing features and fixes of mobile apps, End-Points (APIs) consumed by mobile apps and the related web applications. I look at Consumer Analytics ( Market shares of mobile Operating Systems, App versions, browsers and Mobile devices) to define better test plan for every release, ensure backward and forward compatibility of apps with the end-points and the related web applications. Ensure better test coverage by continuously improving Test Cases. Apart from these core responsibilities, I also get involved in applying agile methodologies and process improvements for teams, evaluating and selecting right set of tools for test management, assessing team productivity by analysing the internal defect tracking / product management data, build dashboards to gauge work progress. Take part in recruitments and interviews. Being one of the early engineers of Freshdesk, I've had several opportunities to work on products that are built from scratch, try out different things and have first hand experience in almost all the aspects that I've mentioned above.
