Responsible for our technology vision and execution. I lead our use of application platforms as part of enterprise shared services environments.

Redesigning system architecture of the Enterprise Portal and Collaboration platform (SharePoint), I defined the disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and implemented the security policy. I partnered with other departments to implement high-quality technology solutions meeting their business needs and automating their processes. I manage relationships with technical direct reports, project staff and external software, hardware and service vendors. The following are some of my significant accomplishments in this role.• Significant contribution to the new IT Strategic Plan of the Organization; • Prepared policies and procedures based on best practices for the use of Collaboration Technology in the Organization.• Established a highly efficient Enterprise Portal Team to deploy solutions across the Organization;• Identified inefficiencies in business processes, and addressed them by proposing cost-efficient technological solutions.• Successfully deployed SharePoint architecture for improved efficiency, productivity, and production quality. • Managed Upgrades since SharePoint 2003 through 2007, 2010 and 2013• Integrated SharePoint with back end line of business applications, providing access to key business data in a single interface and improving efficiency and service levels with flexibility, scalability, and virtualization. • Defined and implemented disaster recovery plan that resumed service within 2 hours with data intact.• Instituted user governance for 2,500+ sites. Ensured compliance with all corporate information security policies on all fronts (confidentiality, availability, and integrity). • Implemented SharePoint-based electronic filing system across 35 countries and deployed corporate search engine, providing global access and 24/7 availability to geographically disperse repositories.

I provided technical and managerial oversight to the in-house development of the corporate ERP system. I operated as database administrator, developer, and network administrator. I managed the ERP infrastructure and software deployments in offices across 35 countries. I developed Web-based tools to centrally monitor the regional ERP infrastructures. Major achievements:• Reduced application build time up to 75% by standardizing development environment and implementing best practices that eliminated incompatibilities and bugs caused by disparate environments.• Eliminated costs associated with developing and maintaining multiple versions by replacing three different language versions of corporate ERP applications with a single multi-language application.• Ensured broad interoperability between technologies by introducing and deploying CITRIX virtualization solution serving MS Office, ERP system, and developer tools for 800 HQ staff and 800 country office staff. Maintained IT infrastructure while eliminating need to install ERP application on 2,000 computers.• Implemented Windows Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Services) to centralize deployment of programs, enable remote administration, take full advantage of existing hardware, and reduce costs associated with updating individual computers. Reduced server CPU idle time from 90% to 40%.• Introduced and implemented VMWare cloud infrastructure and management solution to support software development and corporate deployment of SharePoint 2007.

I developed a global information system to support polio eradication and epidemiological surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases and immunization activities throughout the Americas. I managed the software development, training, and hardware purchasing. I worked with senior business owners on technical requirements and coordinated with government officials in the Americas on systems operations and information analysis.Major achievements:• Designed and developed epidemiology management software system and tailored program for each disease using FoxPro. System was implemented across the Americas with flawless execution.• Devised and drove global communication network and infrastructure that provided a daily exchange of information with all participating countries and quick electronic reporting of critical surveillance data.• Pioneered and developed information management system to gather, analyze, transmit, and report all data across the Americas. Procured assets and equipped the ministries of health with personal computers, software, and communications equipment necessary to capture, analyze, and transmit complex data.• Provided training and support to all ministries of health in the Americas, including epidemiologists, totaling 300 people across 30 countries.

I worked to introduce personal computers into the workplace with office productivity software and to turn paper based repositories into computerized databases. I evaluated and recommended software and hardware for purchasing, and provided user training. Major achievements:• Designed and developed database for the International Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Decade initiative. The application was also adopted by WHO as the global database.• Developed inventory control system for all IT assets including computers, software, peripherals and upgrade components and tracked them as a system and by user assignment from acquisition through full depreciation.• Developed application to track project execution and delivery of technical cooperation by component: consultants, travel, purchasing, etc.• Prepared detailed proposal for first departmental LAN in the organization
