👋🏽 Hi, my name is Varian🎓 I'm a psychology graduate with first class honours and have a diploma in statistics and data mining as well. Currently, I am pursuing a masters in organisational psychology on a a part-time basis.🌇 An aspiring organisational psychologist-to-be, I am a work enthusiast interested in social science research methodology and data analytics. 📚 With over a decade of experience in social science research, I am currently an experienced manager in quantitative research focusing on telephone and online methodologies. Besides mentoring and managing a team of junior researchers, I have experience in data analysis and presentation, project management, client servicing and PDPA compliance. I was also part of the pioneer research team in the Social Lab, Institute of Policy Studies, where I was involved in two longitudinal panel studies, the Singapore Panel Study on Social Dynamics (SPSSD) and Youth Study on Transitions and Evolving Pathways in Singapore, (Youth STEPS). 💻 My aspiration for the next stage of my career is in teaching and consultancy work. Having mentored and supervised junior staff and many interns from polytechnics and universities over the years, I enjoy working with the younger generation by imparting them the right knowledge, skills and mindsets for the workplace and in the research field. Besides teaching, I would also like to shift towards doing consultancy work in organisational psychology. 🏔 In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym as exercising is a form of self-care that helps me to destress. Besides that I enjoy watching documentaries and reading topics related to technology, politics and financial investing 💪🏽 My greatest strengths are in statistical data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. I can analyse an issue from multiple angles to determine the best course of action and approach. I believe that these strengths, beside my affable nature and strong communication skills, makes me a great asset for any team and organisation.
