As a Mitigation Agriculture Manager, Varih has been Collaborated with related stakeholders to support Paludiculture Program and Fund by a peatland and wet agriculture method or standard in Riau Province as part of NBS, conserving Natural Hydrology System. Deliverables of this position are:(1) Encouraging degraded land restoration-revitalization by NBS, sustainable agriculture, agroforestry pilot business model and implementing sustainable standard (RSPO, ISPO, UEDR) for the state of disrepair areas.(2) Strengthening social economic, resiliency and technological value-added, especially on forest, peat and mangrove including involving Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Green City of Siak Policies.(3) Improving implementation program related to restoration and sustainable agriculture by developing GAP (Good Agriculture Practices), supply chain, monitoring system and management application for hydrology, HCV, GHG (MRV) including ACR Carbon Trade, KPH (Forest Management Unit) by NTFPs (Non-Timber Forest Products) and Sustainable Farming.The project has built factories for strengthen potential commodities: sago, pineapple, liberican coffee, developing more than 20 canal blocks, 10 of GHGs, HCV, ES and FS, involved ten communities or villages, 3 sub district especially Siak Government, 2 pilot provinces (Riau and North Sumatra) for sustainable agriculture including standard and compliance implementations. Involving 10 universities or research institutes, 4 ministries; MoHA, MOEF, BRGM, BAPPENAS, 8 private companies, and issued four government regulations (Perda). Founded by USAID, CLUA, GE, etc.

Varih's job is related to developing resilience fund, planning and action for communities and local government in seven priority areas: Aru Island, Kupang, Pangkep, Ambon, Lombok, Gunung Kidul, Rotendao. The deliverables are:(1) Developing Climate Risk Assessment System, MRV and business-fund pipeline for Medium Term Development Plan and implementing agencies,(2) Implementing planning and action models to support resilience and risks reduction in national, city or district, ecosystem and community level through enhancing adaptation capacity on the cities, commodities, HCV and energy by replanting riverside and enriching mangrove biodiversity, fishery on peat, agroforestry, mangrove rehabilitation using NBS, restoring habitats, renewable energy by biogas and bioslurry. (3) Improving instruments for grantees- fund related to strengthen adaptation, mitigation variables and ES Safeguard implementation for their projects.For 2016-2018, Varih's projects in ICCTF BAPPENAS spread all over Indonesia, but focused on eastern Indonesia with more than twenty-five adaptation projects and cross cutting projects of mitigation, spending 8 million USD which funded by USAID, UKCCU and DANIDA. Involving more than twenty pilot cities.

In this position, Varih has deliverables to report and to monitor the GHGs Project-Fund in related program activities in BP REDD Indonesia which managed by UNDP and Norwegian Government. The detail deliverables are:(1) Assisting development of carbon measurement system of MRV that concern with the amount of GHGs in the business as usual (BAU carbon), and the Reduction of Emission Level (REL) since REDD+ introduced by National Government. (2) Non-Carbon activities that relate to social and environmental impacts in ecosystem, NBS, HCV, biodiversity, community including farming, planting, fishery which related to Safeguard REDD+.In this project, Varih with a team had built a system of management, MRV and safeguard to support GHGs reduction achievement with related stakeholders at 5 provincial pilot projects that have been implemented by fifteen organizations, consist by local governments, NGOs and universities.
