I am the Managing Director @ Equinix Brazil. My role is to lead the talented Brazilian team to grow our presence in existing and new markets in the country and to ensure that the local teams have the support they need to keep developing themselves and to formulate and execute their plans.After leading the regional Latin American Corporate Development team for almost 7 years where we deployed more than U$2B to expand the Equinix platform from one country and two markets to five countries and seven regional markets through organic expansions and M&As, it was time to come back home to support the outstanding growth and new organic and inorganic expansions expected for our Brazilian platform.It's amazing to look back and realize that we structured and scaled the company to have more than 200x its initial revenue from 2005 while selling 90% of the company to Equinix and Riverwood in 2011 and 100% of the company to Equinix in 2014 in two successful exits.As you can imagine, it was not always like that. My earlier learning and work experiences confirmed that my career and my lifelong learning journey would need to be at the intersection of IT infrastructure, software development and new business models.Since my first formal project at ALOG back in 2006, I took over other responsibilities leading more than fifteen different areas where I had the privilege of working with a fantastic group of talented people. While leading these teams, I also invested time learning from some of the best institutions all over the world (INSEAD, Berkeley, LSE, MIT, IESE, HBS, Ross, Columbia, Booth, Stanford, Singularity, Reforge and CESAR School).After these awesome years learning abroad and at Equinix, in 2018, after a few expansions, M&A deals and integration projects, I decided to start investing part of my free time in a new journey as an Angel Investor where I focus on early-stage startups from different segments, but with a technology foundation that can enable accelerated growth. Sounds exciting? It is! :)What impresses me the most is that it´s just starting... with the digital transformation overwhelming companies and professionals all over the place and the convergence of the physical, digital and biological “worlds”, the possibilities are enormous. We´re living exciting times where anyone can have an idea, create a business to influence billions of lives and have fun!
