Hello! My name is Varsha Kumar, and I am a marketing major at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am a passionate and creative individual who loves to learn new things and work diligently to create projects I am proud of. I chose marketing as my major after researching potential fields and interviewing professionals to understand why they chose their paths and what a career in those fields entails. I chose marketing because it is a field in which I apply my writing and creativity skills, which I've fostered through creative writing and AP art classes in high school, and I can have a stable career path in which I learn and grow. Currently, taking a Principles of Marketing class, a Business Communication class, and a Macroeconomics class in college are all furthering my skills and knowledge to aid me in marketing. I work well both in collaborative spaces, with my ability to connect with others and problem solve, and with individual projects, with my ability to keep myself focused and manage time. I am dedicated and organized, never one to miss a deadline, and believe my growing skillset will aid me in pursuing a career in marketing due to all of the resources and opportunities I am so grateful to have through UTD. Working at Abercrombie Kids and Crumbl helped refine my skills in understanding customer needs, actively listening, and communicating clearly with customers to effectively problem solve and encourage customers to make purchases. These skills would aid me in marketing as adequately understanding and responding to customers is crucial in creating targeted campaigns. I experienced how it is to work with new coworkers in a busy atmosphere, strengthening my ability to adapt and work with a team. Working at these popular stores also taught me how to maintain their image and experience, and brand strategy is crucial for effective marketing. I am not just seeking an internship but a chance to learn from various professionals in a real-world marketing environment. I am eager to gain unique insights on how to excel and make a positive impact in the field of marketing. Though I would love to work as a marketing intern, I am also open to internships in general business because that is equally valuable hands-on experience that will aid me in learning about the business world.Feel free to reach out if you'd like to connect!
