Joined the India Residency Team as a Sr. Avamar Specialist (Implementation Engineer & Technical Operations Lead). I was responsible for implementation of new backup solutions & end to end migration of customer’s existing infra using EMC Avamar, DPA, and Data Domain. Also the single point of escalations and working closely with the French Management / CSMs and CPMs. I was also responsible for conducting technical interviews at the time of hiring.Responsibilities:• Design and implementation of new Backup solutions in customer’s environment.• Advising customer for any architectural changes required in the backup infra and implementing those.• Handling all the procedures to get the Avamar grids upgraded from Avamar version 6.0 to Avamar 7.1.• Handling issues like the Node Failure, Node Addition and Node replacement and work in coordination with the EMC Support, if required.• Creating the High level design to ensure migration as per customer’s requirement. • Configuring and troubleshooting Windows/Non-Windows clients for file system and Database backups and replication using both CLI and Management Console GUI.• Troubleshooting Client side, Server side backup and restore issues. • Initiating the manual backups and restores as per the requirements.• Performing the Server Maintenance, Capacity Checks, OS Utilization checks, Daily Health checks and proactive checks on all the grids.• Generating the Audit reports for the successful, unsuccessful backups over a period of time, for calculating Monthly SLA and consecutive failures.• Creating SOP’s wherever required to make the process understandable to new members in the team.• Modifying / deleting the existing clients and their backup policies.• Creating SIPs to achieve the success SLAs.• Configuring / modifying the DPA reports for active client statuses.• Taking care of issues escalated by customers directly or by the management & RCA.• Disaster recovery planning for the servers.
