When I joined Regalii back in 2014, I was the sole developer in the company, running the technology side of things single handedly for the first two months working alongside the business and marketing team and helping them turn their business needs into fully functional features. Often working with vague feature descriptions and no mock-ups, I wore several different hats in any given day from project manager, to UI/UX designer to developer, to QA, all while crunching code a lightning speed and launching features on a daily basis.While I was there, I added several key features to their old website and later worked along side the CTO to completely reconstruct the entire website from ground up, making it much more stable, efficient, bulletproof, and feature rich while often doing most of the heavy lifting, making key technology decisions, and coaching the CTO, while he got acquainted and up to speed with the Tech operations at the company. Developed an application that collected and analysed application logs and generated daily reports that summarized errors and found the teams responsible for them. Worked within a team to refactor legacy code that was responsible for managing memory on mobile chipsets. The goal was to enhance modularity of the code and update it to enable compatibility with new features and latest developments in the company. Accomplishing this required fully understanding the existing code, which involved learning several new concepts such as TCP/IP/UDP protocols, socket programming, and low level memory management concepts.Also Learned how to properly write test cases and how to test circuits using the Trace32 in-circuit debugger along with JTAG. Created a script/application which retrieved RSS feeds from partners and incorporated them into Petro Canada's corporate website asynchronously using AJAX. To accomplish this, I researched and learned several early Web 2.0 technologies such as Dynamic HTML, AJAX, XML, JSON, cross-domain scripting, and RSS feeds.During this time, there weren't many Javascript libraries out there and AJAX was relatively new, made popular by it's use in Google Maps. As such, this internship served as a comprehensive and raw introduction to the core of Web 2.0 as it was the first time I heard about the XMLHttpRequest Object and had to write code to manually handle different implementations of AJAX for different browsers.Technologies used: HTML, Javascript, XML, JSON, DHTML, AJAX, C#, ASP.Net, MySQL, cross-domain scripting, CSS, Visual Studio.Net, RedDot CMS, and Dojo.
