Staff recruitment and Training in Design education pedagogy.6. Campus development - Planning and supporting infrastructural development.7. Students admission into program.8. Brand building and Marketing support. 9. Setting up of Administrative and support functions team. 10. In the capacity of Chief Executive, varunan was responsible for the overall academic and administrative functioning of the college and was also heading the business development vertical. Additionally he was also responsible for envisioning the new campus along with the Director and Board Members. During the last year of his tenure at Annapurna college, he was given the additional responsibility of Interim Dean.

At Annapurna College of Film and Media, Varunan is the Associate Dean of Academic Administration and is also the Head of Media and Head of Production. Being one of the core member of Senior Management team of ACFM, he is responsible for the overall administrative functioning of the school and liaising with university. He is also responsible for the diligent utilization of equipment and production facility of ACFM in the most effective manner for the school. He is experienced in AICTE, UGC and International university collaborations.
