• With a particular emphasis on understanding the formation and intensification of tropical and monsoon depressions, I developed idealized numerical models and utilized time series and statistical analysis techniques to examine the role and control of moist convection in these tropical cyclonic vortices. Results are published in 5 peer-reviewed articles.• Applied machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering) to examine the different types of clouds in satellite data of tropical depressions, and to predict the occurrence of these clouds as a function of various environmental parameters.• Teaching fellow for The Atmosphere, Ocean, and Environmental Change (Fall 2012, 2014) and Observing Earth from Space (Spring 2016).

• Applied time series analysis methods to understand the evolution of convective instability during intense precipitation events and applied regression models to predict the rainfall intensity as a function of environmental conditions.• Responsible for the end to end functioning of the university microwave radiometer, including setup, maintenance, and data validation.

• Designed and developed a Java application to be used by research flight crew to approach areas of strong vertical ascent in monsoon clouds. Radar reflectivity data is first ingested to identify cores of vertical ascent, which are then tracked by a clustering technique applied to their center of mass, and their position is then forecast by extrapolation.• Designed and developed a Java application to validate vertical profiles of thermodynamic variables from the Megha-Tropiques satellite against previously computed statistical characteristics of radiosonde soundings from various tropical stations. Prior computation of statistical characteristics involved the identification of different 'weather regimes' at each tropical station using clustering, and subsequently computing the mean and variance vertical profile for each regime.

• Designed and developed an application in Java to monitor and display the state of network security products such as firewalls and switches and ensured regulatory compliance of their configurations.• Created a prototype in python and developed an application in Java to automate the migration of PIX firewalls to ASA firewalls, with complete ASA configuration files generated for various customer networks.
