In collaboration with two PhD students, I designed and implemented a research plan to investigate the effects of the R175H mutation in the p53 protein leading to prion-like behavior. I became proficient in advanced laboratory techniques—including protein sequencing, QuikChange site-directed mutagenesis, and primer design—to generate p53-R175H mutants. Furthermore, I conducted cell induction and lysis via sonication to confirm protein expression and utilized FPLC filtration to purify proteins for electrophoresis analysis. Additionally, I examined structural changes in mutated p53 proteins using electron and stereo microscopy, enhancing the interpretability of our findings. Throughout the project, I actively participated in weekly lab meetings to present results, analyze related insights, and optimize our research methodologies
