Systems Building Contracting Ltd is a MEP contracting company based inCurepipe. Being in the mechanical department (responsible for Public Health,HVAC and firefighting), I was initially assigned to help in tenders andprocurements. Then I got the opportunity to become Quality Controller. Myresponsibility was to check quality of works and do testing on pipes, airconditioners, pumps, valves and other equipment. After acquiring experience ofsite works, I was assigned as Site engineer and am now responsible for siteworks. My job includes doing program of works, procurement schedules, getmaterials approved prior to start of work, attend site meetings, tackle issues andresolve them, ensure efficient use of labour and materials, do mark up for shopdrawings, deal with main contractor and consultants, communicate with teammembers and to continue the Quality Control works.

SPREMA is situated at Riche Terre and is a contractor for steel works. I workedthere as a production engineer. My main job was to supervise manufacturing atthe workshop and erection of steel structure on site. Moreover, I used myknowledge about Autocad and other softwares to produced shop drawings. I alsohad to do tendering works.

At EBS Ltd I got the opportunity to assist various fascinating projects like moving of the RMQC at Le Port of Mauritius. My job was also to keep track of the different works and order spare parts, tools or materials needed for specific works.

My job was mainly to assemble solar photo voltaic panels on metal rails which would afterwards be placed on a solar farm.

At the company I learnt much about maintenance of vehicles, car painting, welding, as well as manufacturing of materials on lathe and milling machine. I also got the opportunity to assist repairs of machines like Excavators on site. My job was mainly to assist servicing and repairs on vehicles on a scheduled basis. I had to prepare a maintenance plan and do a report as well as order parts for the purpose.
