Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)Role Description:As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through rigorous testing practices. Your role encompasses various testing domains, including API testing, behavior-driven development (BDD), performance testing, and mobile app automation. You will also leverage cloud platforms to optimize testing workflows and manage test results efficiently.Key Responsibilities:1. API Testing with Rest Assured: - Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for RESTful APIs using the Rest Assured framework. - Develop and execute comprehensive test cases to validate API functionality, performance, and security. - Collaborate with development teams to integrate API tests into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure early detection of defects.2. Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with Cucumber: - Create and maintain BDD test scenarios using Cucumber to facilitate clear communication of requirements and test criteria. - Implement step definitions in Java to automate BDD scenarios, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives. - Participate in regular BDD sessions with stakeholders to refine and update test scenarios based on feedback and evolving requirements.3. Performance Testing: - Utilize performance testing tools such as Beacon to trigger and manage performance tests, identifying bottlenecks and potential areas of improvement. - Analyze performance test results to provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimization. - Monitor application performance metrics and ensure that performance criteria meet the specified thresholds.4. Test Result Management: - Implement and use test management tools to track and report on the status of automated tests. - Generate detailed test reports, highlighting test coverage, execution status, and identified defects. - Maintain clear and organised documentation of test cases, scripts, and results.5. Mobile App Automation with Appium: - Develop and execute automated test scripts for mobile applications using Appium, ensuring compatibility across various devices and platforms. - Integrate mobile test automation into the overall test strategy, maintaining consistency with other automated testing efforts. - Collaborate with development and QA teams to address mobile-specific testing challenges and ensure comprehensive coverage.
