Greek-born Vasia Rigou is a writer, editor, and curator. She grew up appreciating art after years of carefully planned, culture-filled travel itineraries and museum-hopping around Europe with her family. Much of her work writing about visual art, design, and culture can be found at Newcity, Chicago’s leading culture publication, where she serves as editor. She also regularly contributes to the Chicago Reader, Artnet, and international magazines OnOffice and ICON. By day, she’s the Writer and Copy Editor at the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) HQ. With experience creating content for brands and crafting conference speeches and influential TEDx talks, she’s passionate about uncovering the remarkable stories behind people, places, and objects, and sharing them with the world. Her curatorial practice focuses on ideas of identity, intimacy, and belonging, with her latest exhibitions at the Chicago Artists Coalition and the Swedish American Museum of Chicago. She is originally from Athens, Greece.
