It’s a bit like saying that falls are due to gravity.”This quote by Dr. Trevor Kletz, the “founding father” of inherent safety, is one of my favourites, as it has made a huge impact on me and has greatly enhanced my passion for process safety. This passion began during my master’s degree in process safety and loss prevention at the University of Sheffield and it only grew bigger during my internship in BP’s Headquarters in Sandbury, where I had the unique chance to study and see some of the world’s best practices in health and safety being implemented.For 15 years, I have been travelling around the world helping companies improve their safety level and exploring the link among process, machinery and occupational safety through numerous studies in Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, the Balkans, Russia and the U.A.E.Today, I am the Managing Director of ProAct.
