- Responsible for scheduling inspections, monitoring and assessment of structures assets and the evaluation of reports. - Undertaking engineering analysis and risk assessments of assets to support the asset management process and scheme development, including business cases, sustainability and whole life cost analysis. - Prioritising actions to address defects and issues raised in reports. - Responsible for technical approval of highway structures in Asset Support Contract (ASC) 10 including the M6 and M62 Smart Motorways schemes- Providing appropriate advice and guidance to Highways England, its contractors, suppliers and to colleagues in their personal development. - Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand their business needs, to promote and gain commitment to SES objectives and solutions, to identify key areas for improvement and to share best practices. - Planning and managing project activities and resources, identifying risks and appropriate mitigation and reporting progress, to ensure delivery of project objectives to time and cost. - Liaising with, influencing and managing agents, contractors and professional engineers engaged on structural aspects of Highways England projects, ensuring effective application of standards and procedures in line with achieving best value and other Highways England objectives. - Develop value management cases for new projects, to ensure that such projects are consistent with Highways England strategic goals, quantifying resource requirements and identifying project interdependencies within and beyond the team. - Ensuring the effective application of Technical Approval procedures and technical governance of structural assets, contributing to best practice on design, construction, management and maintenance of highway structures- Identifying risks and applying knowledge and judgement on technical designs to analyse root cause of structural issues and implementing appropriate mitigation/interim measures on highway assets- Ensuring compliance with commissions, programmes and Highways England procedures- Reviewing Departures from Standard to obtain best value for money on highway schemes, ensuring safety of the assets and the public - Carrying out audits of Principal Inspection reports and identifying key areas for improvement

Responsible for designing major maintenance of bridge infrastructure as part of the £2Bn Sheffield PFI contract.Design of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Plates in accordance with federation international du beton bulletin 14 (fib bulletin 14) to enhance the flexural capacity of RC elementsDesign, project management, supervision of the works and principal inspection of the Beighton Viaduct major maintenance scheme.
